The Community Action Fund (CAF), established as part of the Let’s Beat Diabetes (LBD) programme, aims to support community groups and organisations to develop and implement initiatives that prevent and/or delay the onset of diabetes, slow the disease progression, and increase the quality of life for people with diabetes. Research shows that improved nutrition and increased rates of physical activity are vital to achieving these aims.
The CAF is a ‘one-off’ fund to kick-start local initiatives that help to achieve these aims. CMDHB will work with successful applicants to look at ways of ensuring their initiatives are sustainable for their communities.
